There are so many airdrops happening and people are so happy. But what about those who aren’t eligible for the airdrops? Ask me, I feel terrible.

Airdrop is the new way to to attract attention.

Attention- which everyone is fighting for.

When the tokens are airdropped they are not valuable per se. All those who are eligible for the airdrops , claim their token and create a buzz about it and evangelize it. Eventually it gains attraction and more people buy it via AMMs. And the price goes up and it continues for some time.

Many have created fortune just by selling the airdropped tokens.

It is of course NOT FREE. One has to be eligible for it. Either by using the platform, spending threshold ether in gas, registering domain name , buying NFT on other platform and son on and so forth.

Let’s check some of the projects which have done airdrops.

• $ens : Those who had registered a domain on ethereum name service before 31 October 2021 where eligible to claim the $ens tokens. Some of the registrants got tokens of whooping $65k .

I didn’t know about ens back then. I had just jumped into web3 . I wish the snapshot would have taken on 30-11-2021.

• $rari : In order to participate, you have to own NFTs with a price — meaning that you should have bought them on any platform that records data on-chain (on a marketplace, in a game pre-sale, etc). 15/07/2020 — existing Rarible users, 20/07/2020 — documented NFT holders/buyers.

It happened in 2020 and I wasn’t even investing in cryptos and never heard of NFTs. So, I don’t care.

• $gas : Again, those who had spent $1559 in gas fees were eligible for it.

I don’t have cryptos and NFTs of that amount ( couldn’t afford ) and it’s talking about gas fees!

• $sos : Anyone who had bought NFTs on opensea was eligible.

I have one NFT but that too I had minted it and not bought from opensea. lol.

• $looks : Those who had spent minimum 3 eth on opensea where eligible . Again, out of my bound.

Not airdrop but missed opportunity : $people :- I also wanted to be a part of historic moment and wanted to contribute to buy the constitution but gas fees were $60 at the time and I had ether of $50 only.

And there are so many projects and airdrops are going on that it’s just impossible to keep track of everything.

There are so many like me who were NOT eligible for these airdrops. But doesn’t matter. We are here to learn and hopefully buidl.

We definitely have missed so many airdrops and will miss in the future too but our learning process should never stop.
