Zero-Cost Airdrop: Sunrise
July 22nd, 2024

In the exploration of blockchain scalability, modular blockchain architecture has gradually become an important direction. This essentially means that everyone focuses on solving the problems they are best at, forming modules, and finally assembling them into high-performance applications.

Sunrise chooses to solve the problem of data availability.

Data Availability (DA) is a critical concept in blockchain technology. It ensures that all nodes in the network can access and verify the data on the blockchain. Simply put, data availability ensures that the data on the blockchain not only exists but is also readable and usable.

Imagine you are borrowing a book from a large library. To ensure that the content of the book you borrow has not been tampered with, the library must ensure that every book is intact and complete on the shelves. Similarly, in a blockchain, data availability ensures that all participants can access and verify the integrity and accuracy of the data on the blockchain.

So, what exactly is this Sunrise project? And what makes it special?

1. What is Sunrise?

Sunrise is a Data Availability (DA) layer specifically designed for fee abstraction and Proof of Liquidity (PoL). It supports the modular blockchain paradigm, enabling developers to build rollups and applications with enhanced security and liquidity.

Imagine Sunrise as a super warehouse dedicated to data storage. In the blockchain world, storing and processing data is like dining in a high-end restaurant—very expensive. Sunrise's emergence is like an efficient buffet that can store a large amount of data while reducing costs.

In technical terms, Sunrise addresses the data availability (DA) issue in the blockchain world.

2. What are Sunrise's innovations?

Proof of Liquidity (PoL) is the key to achieving lower capital costs.

Sunrise itself is also a blockchain and requires a consensus mechanism. This mechanism is "Proof of Liquidity" (PoL). Unlike Ethereum's PoS consensus mechanism, which involves staking native tokens like ETH, Sunrise allows you to stake any liquidity. Liquidity essentially means money or combinations of money.

For example, instead of staking native tokens (like ETH), you can stake tokens involved in providing liquidity (such as ETH-USDT pairs).

In simple terms, your funds can continue to provide liquidity for decentralized finance (DeFi) to earn returns, while also staking your liquidity certificates on Sunrise to earn validator income.

This is like killing two birds with one stone. In other words, the same amount of money increases both Sunrise's liquidity and its security. Naturally, capital efficiency is also higher.

You might have guessed that, unlike Sunrise's pre-optimization of capital efficiency, re-staking addresses capital efficiency post-facto. Therefore, re-staking and Sunrise's PoL share a similar goal. For more on re-staking, you can check out the article "Demystifying Re-Staking" for deeper insights.

Of course, Sunrise's innovations also include lower fees and compatibility with Celestia. To put it bluntly, if you find Celestia too expensive, you can switch to Sunrise.

3. Participate in Testing to Earn Points

In early July 2024, Sunrise launched its public testnet. Participating in the test now can earn you points to exchange for airdrops. The current tasks are divided into two parts: application interaction and social engagement.

You will need two Chrome wallet extensions: Kelpr and Metamask.

3.1 Application Interaction

3.1.1 Connect Wallets

Click Connect to enter the following page, and click the arrow position in the picture below. The official tip: using my invitation link will give you extra bonus points.

In the pop-up window, click sequentially according to the arrows to connect the first wallet—Kelpr.

After entering the following page, click the arrow position again to connect the second wallet.

In the new window, click the arrow position in the picture below.

In the pop-up window, click sequentially according to the arrows to connect the second wallet—Metamask (the fox).

3.1.2 Faucet

Next, get the test tokens from the faucet. You need at least 0.001 ETH on the Ethereum mainnet and at least one transaction history.

After getting the tokens, let's find them. Open Kelpr, and let's look for them.

Click the Deposit button and search for "rise."

If you can't find "rise," it's because we haven't added the Sunrise chain yet. Click the link at the arrow position in the picture above.

In the new page, search for "Sunrise" and follow the arrow sequence to add the new chain.

Next, open the Kelpr wallet again, search for "rise," and you will find the 10 RISE tokens you just received.

3.1.3 Trading

Next, start trading (swap). Follow the arrow sequence in the picture below and set the exchange amount to 3 RISE.

3.1.3 Trading

Next, start trading (swap). Follow the arrow sequence in the picture below and set the exchange amount to 3 RISE.

In the new page, click the arrow position in the picture below.

Enter the number of ATOMs you want to add. The number of RISE tokens will change accordingly. Then click the Add Liquidity button.

3.1.5 Removing Liquidity

Similarly, enter the details page from the liquidity list above. At the bottom of the page, find the liquidity you just added.

Click to open, then click the arrow position to Decrease Liquidity.

In the new pop-up window, select the proportion to remove (-75%) and click the Decrease Liquidity button.

At this point, you have completed all the application interaction tasks. Check your points.

The box in the picture above shows the interaction tasks you just completed.

3.2 Social Interaction

Click Link to enter the following page and complete the Sunrise social interaction tasks.

This is relatively simple: follow on Twitter, like, retweet, and so on. Finally, remember to click the Claim button in the box in the picture above to receive your OAT and points.

Conclusion

If you are a blockchain newbie and a keen observer, you will find that the above Galxe is another window for you to learn about more blockchain projects and a key base for zero-cost airdrops.

If you don't understand English, no problem, you can use the "immersive translation" tool I mentioned. This tool is detailed in the article "Zero-Cost Airdrop: Superposition."

As I always say, teaching someone to fish is better than giving them a fish.

And that's what I've been doing: from Intract.io to DeBank, and now Galxe. This is already the third "fish" I've given.

Have you used them yet?

As an early bird, it's not enough to just wake up early; you also have to get up early.
