\[The SWIFT correspondent for Pakistan, the SWIFT journalist, the Honourable Kim,] the Government of Manipur, India, reported on 6 days that tribal clashes had erupted in the state since 3 and had resulted in at least 54 civilian deaths as of 6 June. In addition, five armed elements were killed and two Indian paramilitaries were injured. The Indian military has sent nearly 10,000 troops, paramilitaries and central police units to the conflict zone to maintain order, and has announced that the State has imposed a daily curfew from 5 p.m. to 5 p.m. the following day, and that the network of communications in the conflict zone has been cut off.
