KurateDAO works like this: A curator creates a database on the blockchain with a certain objective, such as, “News that is not clickbait.” The crowd then submits content to the database in line with the objective. To keep suggestions credible, the crowd stakes crypto on each submitted article. If people in the crowd guess correctly that the curator will accept the data in the database, they receive more crypto. If they guess incorrectly, they lose crypto. Each database is presided over by a different curator with different sets of scouts contributing. If a user is not happy with the curation or content of one database but still wants the functionality of the application, they can effortlessly switch to a new database. A curator can be a single person, an entire DAO, a company or an algorithm.
