Kerry Murphy, CEO of pioneering digital fashion house The Fabricant, has been given a feature profile in lifestyle and technology magazine Scandinavian MIND. Murphy is depicted on the cover of the magazine as his digital twin, with a look designed by Amber Jae Slooten, co-founder and creative director of The Fabricant. The profile dives into his vision for the future of his company and also digital fashion in general. Metaverse Fashion Week Opens Wide

After weeks of advance press and much fanfare Metaverse Fashion Week opened today in Decentraland. Featuring more than 70 brands vying for the attention of consumer-avatars, the event includes drops, fashion shows, exhibitions, panels and even a fashion film festival. The majority of the offerings take place in a newly-developed area in Decentraland called Fashion District. Virtual real estate company Metaverse Group purchased this 6,000-square-foot plot for a record $2.4M to develop a space to capture the rapidly-ascending digital fashion market.

Bobby Hundreds Goes Long on Digital Fashion

SHOWstudio Curates Film Screening at Metaverse Fashion Week

SHOWstudio has joined forces with Decentraland to screen a series of films during Metaverse Fashion Week. These films include the earliest examples of 3D scanning in fashion, a face filter fashion shoot and a cosplay fashion film. The four-day film festival will occur at CashLabs Gallery where web3 agency CashLabs will launch its mixed media art gallery during Metaverse Fashion Week.

Tommy Hilfiger has announced the company is joining Metaverse Fashion Week. The American fashion design firm said it will showcase its Spring 2022 collections and provide consumers with a “digital retail platform” that features Tommy Hilfiger-crafted NFTs.

Regina Turbina x PUMA at Metaverse Fashion Week

Powered by legacy sportswear brand PUMA and web3 fashion marketplace ARTISANT, the NFT collection Wedding: Upcycled drop, created by @digital.fashion.princess (Regina Turbina), will drop at Metaverse Fashion Week. The collection represents four digital garments that combine upcycled PUMA sneakers, footballs, goalie gloves and backpacks.

Eckhaus Latta Drops NFT Collection

On their ten-year anniversary the brand Eckhaus Latta has introduced their inaugural NFT collection. Titled “EL10,” the NFTs feature 3D renderings of 10 looks from the brand’s history. The collection is a collaboration with Seoul-based artist Leeseongil, who did the illustrations. In partnership with social-impact token Ponyo Impact, the collection is registered on the Ethereum blockchain with each NFT priced at .025 ETH.

Auroboros x Grimes at Metaverse Fashion Week

The trendsetting London-based digital fashion house Auroboros has enlisted Grimes to perform in the virtual world Decentraland during Metaverse Fashion Week. The event promises to be a large shopping opportunity with many trad brands that are taking first steps into the space. Auroboros was the first digital fashion house to release a digital couture collection at an IRL fashion week.
