It was the start of 2023 when we, the Zypsy team made our way to Lisbon, Portugal, a city of vibrant culture, sardine feasts, and enough vinho verde to make you forget all your worries.

DAOs are increasingly being adopted in crypto and DeFi projects like charity, investment, fundraising, borrowing/purchasing NFT, all without intermediaries.

Oftentimes you will hear the term trustless in web3. What it really means is that instead of trusting strangers, institutions, and other 3rd parties, a user would trust in the code or protocol, ie trust is built into the code.

Envision a future where web3 technologies are widely adopted. Where each user engages with multiple Dapps, tokens, and chains as they normally would with typical apps. But instead of a centralized server keeping logs of your past interactions, it’s transparent and on-chain for you to view. In this future, we believe that it is necessary for the user to be able to have full transparency and accessibility of their own transaction history.

Smart Contract Events are the notification of web3 technology. When certain meaningful conditions happen within the smart contract, the smart contract emits an “Event” and writes logs to the blockchain that a Dapp frontend or other smart contracts can process. For example, if a person were to transfer an ERC20 token, the token’s smart contract would then emit the “Transfer” event which contains all the data related to the transfer.

Blockchain technology enables all transactions to be recorded in a decentralized ledger which anyone can view at any time. In this way, the entire transaction process can be transparent and open to everyone. For example, this is a major advantage of blockchain technology over traditional banking systems, which require an intermediary or third party for confirmation and supervision of each transaction.

Transparency is one of the core components of web3, as the way we display blockchain data will create an impact on how users read the data.

The Ethereum merge will change how the network is secured by switching from Proof of work (POW) to Proof of stake(POS).
