As the number of layer 1 and layer 2 blockchains increases, the demand for cross-chain capabilities for assets and decentralized applications (Dapps) also grows. While cross-chain bridges are a common solution, Omnichain technologies, exemplified by Zetachain, take a distinctly different approach. This article uses Zetachain as a case study to explain how Omnichain integrates cross-chain rules into smart contracts, enabling decentralized interoperability.
