I won’t shrink back from what I want to do, what I want to learn and how many difficulties I encounter.” Recently, Zhang Guimin, assistant manager of the technology and Quality Department of Ningbo Milk Group Co., Ltd., said when accepting the commendation of “model worker” in Jiangbei District of Ningbo from 2019 to 2021.
In June 2010, Zhang Guimin obtained a master’s degree from Anhui Agricultural University. In September of the same year, she joined Ningbo milk group and became a member of the quality inspection team. Since then, she began to deal with normal temperature milk and precision instruments.
In the company, the quality inspection team is an important team, and the quality and safety of dairy products are controlled by them. First of all, they have to check the first pass in the selection of suppliers. Secondly, they have to check batch by batch in the incoming inspection as required. Finally, they can fill these raw materials into milk and enter thousands of households.
“It’s not enough to study alone, but the key is to make progress together.” As a technical director, Zhang Guimin played a leading role of “leading the way”. After obtaining a series of certificates such as organic auditor, internal auditor of pollution-free products, senior food inspector and engineer, Zhang Guimin began to bring “apprentices”. She gave the experience she had learned and summarized to ensure that everyone of the inspectors obtained the test certificate and could operate more than three precision instruments independently, so that the quality of raw materials, process products and finished products could be effectively tested and monitored, and the people of the whole city could drink reassuring milk every day.
R & D is an interesting job in the eyes of others. It is also a matter of great achievement to create better things. But for researchers, it means repeated attempts and experiments. Zhang Guimin is such a R & D personnel who spends all day in the front line of experiments.
According to national regulations, milk within a certain period of time after the use of antibiotics shall not be used as raw materials for human consumption. At the same time, the state stipulates in the purchase standard of fresh milk that antibiotics shall not be detected in fresh milk.
However, in terms of the feeding environment of dairy cows in China, the absolute “non resistance” of milk is difficult to achieve. In view of this situation, there is an “antibiotic decomposing agent” on the market, which can selectively decompose the residual in milk β- Lactam antibiotics, whose component is β- Lactamase.

“The development of the dairy industry is no longer simply limited to the pursuit of ‘quantity’, but more focused on the improvement of ‘quality’ and the requirements of innovation.” In Zhang Guimin’s view, quality consumption is no longer a minority demand, but a “rigid demand” in the mass market. “As far as the dairy industry is concerned, consumers choose a box of milk and start to think more about whether they can buy more reassuring product quality, higher standards and stricter testing.” As early as 2017, Zhang Guimin established agricultural breeding standardization and quality management standardization, making the competitiveness of enterprises in the forefront of the industry.
In the 11 years of growing up with the quality inspection team, Zhang Guimin has overcome many problems, from “rapid and general detection technology of small molecular organic pollutants” to “research and development of compound grain probiotic yogurt”, from the field of genetic improvement of dairy cows to the construction project of “sunshine factory”. Each stage can increase the enterprise efficiency and market competitiveness. In different stages, what Zhang Guimin moved his colleagues was always the spirit of “ox horn tip” who did not give up the slightest hope. No matter how small the hope is, we can’t ignore it and don’t give up a chance of success.
Today, Zhang Guimin has been full of honors, but she is still not arrogant in the face of achievements. She looks forward to solving more puzzles and better protecting the safety of the tip of her tongue in the future.
