An introduction to the state of blockchain and web3 music in Australia
People love to say that crypto moves fast, and while personally that certainly seems to be so, at home in Australia that assertion is harder to verify. In the last two months since my introduction to web3 and the possible futures of music, Iāve been surprised by how little information is available that directly addresses our local context.

A few experiences in the recent past have led me to what will follow this essay. An old mate recommended I look up Audius, another suggested I release my upcoming album as an NFT, among others. After reactivating my Twitter, listening to hours and hours of podcasts, and reading a few white papers (most of which kind of made sense) - Iām here to try something new.
