I began exploring how blockchains and Ethereum work back in 2021. However, it wasn’t until a year later, in 2022, that I made my first on-chain Ethereum transaction. During this time, I was working as a research analyst at a research firm, focusing primarily on infrastructure. Toward the end of 2022, I shifted my focus to Account Abstraction and User Experience. The user experience, even for someone crypto-native like me, was poor, and meaningful use cases were few and far between.

Everyone is talking about the Account Abstraction (AA) and its potential to revolutionize user experience in the blockchain space. And the main misunderstanding about AAis Account Abstraction is more than abstracting gas fees or enabling batch transactions. How? Via programmable key management systems. These systems can provide hardware-level security for everyday devices and integrate Web2 authentication methods into Web3 environments, allowing us to move beyond the traditional 12-word seed phrases.

DeFi’s UX and Security are broken. Users lose billions of dollars due to private key leaks because self-custody requires extensive know-how, and current crypto apps try to educate users instead of making their jobs easy. We at Clave are trying to make our users’ jobs easy. To achieve this, we’re using consumer hardware that almost all users already have in their everyday devices: Secure Enclave and Passkeys.

Zero-knowledge proofs are a powerful technology that can be used to develop applications and eliminate the need for a middleman. However, creating a ZKP from scratch is nearly impossible without being a genius or a math professor. Therefore, there are numerous ZK protocols available that enable non-experts to build ZK applications.

Zora is one of my favorite consumer apps in crypto; it has a straightforward economic structure and UX. As a researcher and a content creator, I’m obsessed with their platform.
