Today, Sky Mavis just dropped a protoype for a project that they have been teasing for the past few days called Project T. It is a social platform where you get to interact with your Axies and chat, hangout, and play mini-games with other players.
It is currently open for testing for selected players in the community including Mystic Axie owners, Land owners, top 100 Origin leaderboard winners from Seasons 1 to 4, and Origin axie owners. The game is playable from Mavis Hub and also just on a web browser.
Here I will focus on sharing about the gameplay and my thoughts on the project. You can check out the following offcial links for more details about Project T.

After you link your wallet and create your character (currently only a few customisations available), you start off in in your Homebase which is an area that has a house (where you and your Axies sleep), a Farm, a Garden, a Dojo, and a place to offer to Atia.
Currently there are a limited number of things we can do in our Homebase. We can plant Pumpkin seeds and milk Cows to obtain food items (Pumpkins and Milk) which can be gifted to your Axies. We can also offer to Atia to obtain various rewards like Shards and food items.
There is a Dojo where you and your Axies can do some Training to gain Energy. In the house, you and your Axies can Sleep to restore Stamina.
There is a Daily Quest system to guide players want to do. Currently the rewards are Shards that can be used to get Pumpkin seeds and hire Cows.
In Project T, we can finally walk with our Axies and interact with them! Currently you can give your Axies gifts or ask your Axie to help with certain tasks like Training at Dojo. It is good that we finally have a platform to play with our Axies in an interactive way. Just seeing your Axies walking with you in the game and be able to do something together with your Axies is a big step forward in building an emotional bond between players and their Axies.
The biggest part of Project T is of course the social component. It is a social game where you get to interact with other players and show off your Axie. You can bring one of your Axies to Town and meet with other players.
Of course being a social game, besides just walking around with other players and their Axies, we can also chat with other players. It is great to finally be able to chat with other players in game, especially people who you may know in the community but never get to interact personally. (Sorry Gila for putting part of our conversations out here!) I hope that when Project T is more polished and well-developed, there will be deeper and stronger bonds formed between the players through such social interactions.
Currently there is only 1 mini-game available called Gomoku. The objective of the game is to get 5 points in a line. It is actually a very fun game which require quite a bit of skill. (Unfortunately I did not take a screenshot of an amazing game I played earlier. Here is one where I faced a relative easy opponent.)
Another thing we can do is to catch fireflies (glowing dots floating around the map) in Town. Currently it does not do anything but I think it is a good way just to get players walking around the map and explore.
As a prototype, Project T has the basic functionalities of a social Axie game that players have been looking for - the abilities to interact with our Axies, show off our Axie to other players, and interact with other players in real time (and space in the metaverse). I personally quite like the art style and visuals of the map and environment, but the character movement and character customisation need more work. Also the current Axie avatars art style does not blend in with the art style of the environment too well but that is just a very minor point.
In its current form, there is not a lot of incentives to keep players coming back to play Project T everyday. The key is to see how Sky Mavis is going to roll out the progression and reward systems. I would like to see the progression system relating to AXP where doing activities with your Axies in Project T can gain AXP, which may then make your Axies stronger in other Axie games. It would be interesting to see if AXS or SLP will be introduced to Project T but I personally think that it may be better off without the involvement of the tokens and just be a social platform for players to hangout. (We do not want generate more SLP. Requiring SLP or AXS for certain essential activities may deter a lot of players from playing the game.)
Ideally as a social platform, it would be good to have some more social aspects to the game. Being able to form groups / guilds and complete certain tasks as a group / guild could be a way to get people together. It could just be simple things like number of cow milked or bug caught, just some simple competitions or tasks for groups of players to achieve would bring people together and come back to Project T everyday.
I hope that Project T can be a way to onboard new players to Lunacia as a casual social game with simple gameplay. New players can play with starter Axies who can choose to purchase their own Axies more as “cosmetics” with ownership that they can level up in the game. I can see the Project T has the potential to onboard many new players into the Axie ecosystem.
As for existing Luncians, Project T already allows them to show off their favourite Axies to other players. It would be great to also implement some perks for Land Owners, e.g. choosing theme for their Homebase based on ownership of land, owning Land items can speed up certain processes etc.
I am excited to see the next step of Project T and what kind of gameplay and progression and reward systems will Sky Mavis implement to keep players engaged and attract new players to Lunacia.
