Dialogue

➩ Who was the first person to introduce you to the world of crypto?

"To be honest, nobody. As I usually explain, back in 2014 when I started focusing mostly on Gif art, I always had the need of finding a way to ‘link’ my work with the web, as gif is a digital online native format, so by then it was when the first nft was minted. Since then I kept working on parallel works but it was about mid 2018 when Makersplace contacted me to finally starting minting my work."

➩ Could you walk us through a typical day in your life, from morning to night?

"Wake up, walk my dog, have a coffee, and work all day long in many parallel things until I get tired. And repeat, like a life loop. Of course always mixed with many more things, as nft is not my only work, I also work as Video Jockey for a Hip Hop band here in Galicia, and I always receive emails from street art people, musicians… but the daily routine is mostly the same, despite my ‘life’ inside screens is always different. I usually work surrounded by three screens and on each of them a different world."

➩ Throughout history, who's your all-time favorite artist?

"I would say Leonardo Davinci, but not for his art, but for the way he understood the world he was living on, mixing many kind of techniques, technology and his approach about how our mind understands the world. I would also like to mention Alan Moore for the same reason, not about his artistic work, but for the way he understands and depicts human mind. Special mention always for Aaron Swartz. A visionary. The artists I admire most are not for the work itself, but for their words and for how they understand the world."

➩ Any words of wisdom for up-and-coming artists venturing into the NFT and digital art scene?

"Do not get biased by money and crypto side. Focus on art. Art prevails, money comes and go."

➩ What exciting projects or plans do you have on the horizon?

"Many! I have always many parallel projects and I usually don’t speak about them until they are released. But I can say that a big upcoming project that involves loops, video and music. Also some collaborations… But I prefer to have them ready before speaking about them."

➩ If you could pick the next artist for an interview, who would it be, and what intriguing question would you pose to them?

"It would be really nice to read about Lucas Aguirre, he is an artist I admire since long ago and his work is next level! A question for him: Is technology what helps to shape art, or is art what helps to give utility to technology?"
