Azuki's value as a “blue chip” in the first category of Japanese animation style is reflected in the NFT industry. Its vision is to create the largest decentralized brand for the metaverse that is built and owned by the community. Azuki provides its members with 10,000 avatars. Apart from selling NFTs online, it is going to expand its reach, including developing offline streetwear brand stores and holding on-site activities such as meet-ups and music festivals. The Azuki brand is run by a team of real names whose social accounts are disclosed on the official website, and many of them come from major tech companies such as Facebook, Google, YC and Blizzard, such as Arnold Tsang, and Chiru Labs.

Azuki plans to make a series of explorations with the tide brand as the core, including a launch of Azuki 3D, a product for Sandbox VR, Decentraland, Cryptovoxels and Somnium Space, as well as Azuki games for a broader audience. In the future, it will be possible for you to put your own Azuki NFTs into an RPG game for play; also, Azuki NFTs may appear as an original anime character for TeamAzuki.

TeamAzuki is planning to launch Azuki co-branded products offline, such as fashionable and casual clothing, and art toys, and to hold various offline events (meetups, Azuki exhibitions, music festivals, etc.). In 2022, TeamAzuki may release Azuki-related music NFTs.

Azuki has to both engage with a large number of Web2 IPs which are waiting to be re-explored, and actively create its own community to promote Azuki's self-generating dynamics –– establishing Azuki's own DAO in terms of management and proposing to issue $BEAN in terms of financial incentives.

Azuki brand was founded by TeamAzuki whose founder ZZZAGABONZZZAGABON created Chiru Labs (which launched Azuki). HOSHIBOY, original Lab's core artist, has Y-Combinator two project incubation experience, and is an anime enthusiast, laying the foundation of azuki's art style. Among the core team members formed later, STEAMBOY and JOO were the art director of Overwatch and the manager for cartooning Japanese IP Street Fighter respectively, and they have ensured the artistry of Azuki; GENGHISKW has integrated ninja style into Azuki and made it compatible with European and American styles.

Azuki was created by TeamAzuki in January 2022. On January 13, it launched the Dutch auction, all NFTs are sold out within three minutes. The 8700 NFTs was sold for 1ETH each, raising a total of 8700ETH. Then the whitelist was cast, public sales went on Opensea, and after the opening, its floor price soared all the way up to 7ETH until 16ETH in March. On March 31, its NFT holders are airdropped 2 candies, and the floor price for each is 3ETH currently. At present, some employees of Coinbase Venture and a16z have bought Azuki, and changed their Twitter avatars to Azuki. In addition, some large DeFi miners and employees of Oasis Foundation have also joined in. We can find in particular that many Azuki holders are also holders of BAYC and Doodles, and that some of them even choose to sell BAYC and Doodles to buy Azuki, which is unbelievable in other projects.
