Kurt Cobain is one of the most iconic musicians of the 20th century. As the frontman of Nirvana, his songs and image have had a profound impact on the music world and beyond. And while he tragically passed away over 25 years ago, his legacy lives on. As an artist, I wanted to pay tribute to Cobain's enduring influence, and what better way to do that than with an illustration inspired by Al Hirschfeld?

In the mid-1950s, a young man from Tupelo, Mississippi, burst onto the music scene and forever changed the course of popular music. Known as the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley quickly became one of the most famous and influential musicians in history.

In the early 1960s, a group of four young musicians from Liverpool, England changed the face of popular music forever. Known as The Beatles, this band consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and they quickly became one of the most iconic and influential bands in history.

On September 8, 1989, somewhere in Sweden, Stockholm, Tim Bergling was born, better known as Avicii; one of the most prolific musical minds of the last decade; his talent and dedication led him to become one of the most influential producers, performers, and composers of our time. Despite his death in 2018, his soul and spirit will remain in our hearts through his music.
