pump.science and Hedgehog Markets Launch Prediction Markets for Live Mouse Studies — A New Way to Engage with Science

Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland – Ready to put your scientific knowledge to the test? In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, pump.science and Hedgehog Markets are bringing prediction markets to live longevity experiments, offering a whole new way for communities to engage with cutting-edge research. This isn’t about luck—it's about using scientific knowledge and data to actively participate in the future of longevity research.

Centered around pump.science’s RODeo, a series of weekly live-streamed longevity experiments using the rotarod device (an industry-standard tool for measuring mouse endurance and motor function), each week, mice are treated with potential life-extending compounds, and undergo endurance testing. Participants can access video footage of the individual mice, preliminary data, and insights from past experiments to inform their predictions on which mouse will stay on the rotarod the longest.

RODeo prediction markets will open before each experiment and close prior to the start of the study, giving participants time to analyze available data from fly studies, individual mouse preview data, and any recently completed RODeo studies. By studying this information, participants can make skill-based predictions based on the scientific insights available to them—similar to how professionals analyze weather, economic, or election data to make informed predictions.
