DeFi promised financial freedom, but for most, it remains out of reach. There’s over $110B locked in DeFi, yet only a few million users engage actively, and the majority are developers, insiders, or institutional players. The problem isn’t the lack of yield. It’s access. DeFi is still too complex, too risky, and too technical for most people. On major Layer 1s, usage is dominated by whales and bots, not everyday users. The potential exists, but it’s buried behind convoluted interfaces and hidden risks leaving most people on the sidelines.
