Welcome to the first Cora monthly newsletter! This edition will discuss the latest development, design, and community updates of January 2023.

On December 2022, with the support of NEAR communities, we launched the Cora testnet on AURORA. To mark the occasion, the team behind Cora was invited to participate in an AMA session with NEARWEEK and AURORA. The AMA provided a great opportunity for the team to share their vision for the future of Cora, and to discuss the many benefits the protocol will bring to the NEAR ecosystem. Cora, a groundbreaking protocol that allows users to take out loans without the risk of being liquidated, has won third place in the BNB Chain European Innovation competition. This continent-wide campaign, which included events in seven major European cities, attracted over 520 applications and ultimately selected 31 teams through three rounds of a thorough evaluation. Eight winners were chosen following Demo Day, and exclusive VIP networking events were held in the seven cities to provide selected projects with the opportunity to gain exposure to industry experts, local partners, and potential investors.

Last week, the first Cora Testnet launched. Cora Protocol was honoured to welcome the awesome community of DegenScore's Beacon NFT Holders to be the pioneer testers.

Cora is a decentralized money market protocol with a novel design, that allows borrowers to get loans without the risk of being liquidated.
