• What is Parcl ?
Parcl is a DeFi investment platform that offers the ability to trade real estate derivatives based on the price movements of real-world property markets. With Parcl, users can browse real estate markets, track real-time prices, gain detailed insights, and buy or short positions based on their market outlook. The platform is built on Solana and supports trading through AMM pools that isolate risk, with liquidity providers earning trading fees and pool impact fees. Overall, Parcl is the first real estate derivatives protocol that aims to bring transparency, liquidity, and accessibility to the world of real estate investing through DeFi.
• How does Parcl work?
Parcl pulls mountains of data from various publicly available sources to calculate an average price per square foot/meter for a given neighborhood. Parcl does this for a growing number of cities and neighborhoods around the globe to get highly representative market prices, in real-time.
Using this data, Parcl creates unique tokens representing the price movements of a specific property market. These tokens can be bought, sold or traded just like any other asset on a decentralized exchange, and allow investors to benefit from the price movements of a particular real estate market without owning any physical property.
Parcl has raised a total of $11.5 million from two founding rounds, with investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Dragonfly, Solana, big brain holding, Shima Capital, Parafi, Tribe Capital, and Slow Ventures among them.
