“Then why’d you do it?……
…….because, you asked me to” - Kim and Edward in Edward Scissorhands
A hopeless romantic. Holding on with a death grip to potential dreams. I have picked up your pencil 400 times and have never looked at your body in an impure way out of respect and adorement. Im your doormat. Your rug. Walk all over me, as long as you acknowledge my existence.
Sound familiar? This was my entire life up until my late 20’s. Some aspects of this actually good- respect for humans, not treating them like pieces of meat, sexualizing everything that passes me by, etc. Where is the wrong in the above paragraph?
Denial of self. Denial of my own wants and needs.
”I am a human worthy of love and all good things”
This is not just about sex, or romance, or finding someone. This is about the deep rooted FALSE Loyalty, People pleasing Nutcase, who deep down had expectations for his actions that ultimately led to RESENTMENTS.
This is actually how i got myself into trouble as well. Ever fall victim to peer pressure and break the rules? I have- and i did it for the same exact reasons that i picked up her pencil- Acceptance.
”We Teach Others how to Treat us”
When people see that i will continue to do the same actions regardless of their reciprocation, they will unknowingly abuse it. Its human Nature. and its NOT up to THEM to Stop this:
IT IS ON YOU.
So draw the lines in the sand. Know your own worth and stop expecting others to treat you how you treat them. You will attract what you put out- so keep being kind, respectful, loyal, and helpful- but NEVER give away anything YOU need- including your time and love.
Go get what you want and be a good human along the way.
