i was first introduced to you through your support for my art. back in 2021, you collected some of my first music NFTs, including my first music video NFT chose me back for 3 ETH. you showed me something that shifted my entire perspective: that artists should be the ones to set the value of their own work. and that, if people believe in them enough, they will honor that value.

your support didn’t just affirm my worth as an artist, it opened a door of opportunity. it was because of you that i saw the potential of web3 and blockchain technology as a real path for artists to sustain themselves. it led me to sound.xyz, where i was able to contribute to the ecosystem in a deeper way, and it inspired me to become a patron myself, going on to collect hundreds of music NFTs from other artists. you set the example for me of what it means to invest in art not just financially, but with faith. faith in the artist. faith in the vision. faith in the long game.

because of that, i’ve never looked at support the same way. you don’t just believe in the tech, you believe in the artists. in the work, in the quality, in the impact. and when someone does that, it creates a ripple effect. it allows artists not only to sustain but to continue the cycle of support. i know this firsthand because i am both a student of your patronage and a recipient of it.

this week, you did something that will forever change the trajectory of my work: you stepped up as the executive producer of my upcoming project, chrysalis. you committed to funding the vision, giving us the fuel we need to take this project where it’s meant to go. what we’re building is bigger than an album— it’s a multidisciplinary body of work that will allow multiple creators to contribute, to be paid, to be seen. and you sparked that.

creatively, i’m grateful. emotionally, i’m joyful. mentally, i’m ready!! and spiritually, i feel deeply blessed, because this is something i prayed for.

i prayed about stepping away from web3— not because i stopped believing in the technology, but because the space had shifted in a way that no longer felt safe. and even though web3 had been my biggest source of income since 2021, i knew i needed to pivot. what i wanted, what i needed, was to focus on my art. but i didn’t know how.

you saw metanoia. you saw chose me back. masterpiece. you heard moneymorphosis. every piece of work i’ve released since 2021, including the ones you collected, and you recognized the throughline: quality. intention. evolution. you believed that, given the resources, i could do what i’ve always done: magnify and multiply my art. you trusted me with this vision, and now there’s no telling how far it can go now.

i wanted to write this open letter to thank you, but the way that i’ll really thank you is with the work. because the real gratitude will be in what we build. in the art. in the way we bring this project to life with care, intention, and excellence. in the way we show the world what happens when you invest in an artist with passion and purpose.

C.Y., i can’t thank you enough. thank you for being the fuel behind this project. and as we move forward, we welcome other patrons who believe in this vision to join you in pushing chrysalis to its fullest potential. but just know—no matter who comes on board from here—this motion started with you!
