"The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a distributed, open, and extensible naming system based on the Ethereum blockchain."
ENS’s goal is to map human-readable names like ‘bybit.eth’ to machine-readable identifiers such as cryptocurrency addresses, content hashes, and metadata. ENS operates on a system of dot-separated hierarchical names called domains, with the owner of a domain having full control over subdomains.
Because of the hierarchal nature of ENS, anyone who owns a domain at any level may configure subdomains - for themselves or others - as desired. For instance, if Amy owns 'crypto.eth', she can create 'pay.crypto.eth' and configure it as she wishes.
1. Go to the official website of ENS https://app.ens.domains/
2. Connect to any of the following crypto wallets
3. Enter the ENS domain name you want to register
4. If the domain name has been registered by others, the status is 'Unavailable', and Expires date will be indicated.
5. Search for other domains. If available, proceed to the next step.
6. Decide an effective period. (If you only choose one year, you will need to renew each year, and each renewal will incur a gas fee. If the domain name expires and you forget to renew it, others may take it away.)
7. Click ' Request To Register' to confirm the transaction in the wallet. Wait for a couple of minutes. Click 'Register' to complete the mint process.
8. If you come to this page, it means that the domain name was created successfully. If you want to bind it to a crypto wallet, click "Set As Primary ENS Name"
1. What is the "registrant" and "controller" of a name?
The registrant is the account that owns the .eth name. They can transfer ownership to another account and replace the controller address. The registrant is the owner of the NFT token that represents the name.
The controller is the account that controls day-to-day operations with the name: creating subdomains, setting the resolver and records, and so forth.**

2.Do we need to do anything to ensure the continued use of existing ENS names?
Make sure you renew your ENS names before they expire! You add registration years to any name at any time, and for any duration you'd like.**

3.Can someone grab my domains at the end of my subscription period?
You can renew your name at any time during the period you own it. Making sure you renew before the name expires will prevent someone else from registering the name.
There is also a 'grace period' of 90 days after your name expires. You can renew the name to retain ownership of it during the grace period.
4.Can I trade ENS domains on NFT exchanges?
Yes, .eth names are tradeable as NFTs.**
