Boom! And just like that, Season 1 is upon us, and it’s finally time to open our doors a little wider, and get out into the world!
Season 0 was focussed on a small core group of ‘believers’ engaging in sensing, design-thinking, and building as we sought to understand how we could represent and capture the value-flows in the startup community in a more positive-sum way.
Season 1, launching this week, shifts gears, to open our doors wider, and test that thinking and models with new members of the community as we grow our membership and capacity.
Our season 1 theme, therefore, is all about Validating Value - testing our value-creation hypotheses with the wider startup community, delivering initial value and impact, and growing our community and capacity so we can create more impact.
That’s how our community leader Colart Miles welcomed everyone last week as we kicked off our end-of-season team retreat to reflect on what we’ve achieved in our emerging startup community support DAO, and plan out where we want to go next.
And what a fitting way to sum up our efforts and our ultimate vision in creating a web3 community to help startups find a more open, transparent, and equitable way to grow their companies, supported by the startup community as a whole.
So timing has never been better to look at better ways to onboard startups in our community into the web3 world, and bring the various people who help these companies grow come on that journey too.
Its been just over 2 months since I put out the founding discussion document to re-envisage a new way of not only building more amazing founders and startups, but also helping to build a more equitable startup community in the process by using Web3/DAO as a platform.
Our core thesis is that if we can capture more of the early unpaid value which flows in startup communities, for the benefit of the community as a whole, we can create a flywheel to allow us to grow more and more amazing founders in the future and thus create a positive sum game where we all win together.
