Miami update, and onward

Midas Whale
February 22
Hey now. It’s been a while since I checked in, so I guess I’m a bit overdue for an update. To put it mildly, Miami did not quite go as planned. Good times were had, to be sure, experiences the likes of which fuel the fire of life, but I experienced a major setback along the way when I left my backpack in a new acquaintance who I made the mistake of trusting a bit too much’s car. Upon arriving in Miami, I headed for Deeze’s Goonz hotel pool party. That event was super chill, so I ended up staying around a bit too long and I found out the hard way about Miami traffic during Art Basel. Do not try to cross the bridge if you don’t have to. It takes forever. I wanted to go to Boobavelli’s Remillio Recess event, but the bus took so long that I only got to be there for the tail end. After that point, I was pretty exhausted, so I wandered the city for a short while, and then found a patch of grass and some cardboard, and called it a night.

Hey now. Midas Whale here. I'm writing today because I find myself at a crossroads in life. The part of life where I pretend to be a human has gotten untenable, and I'm ready to make some big changes. I'm going all in on a crypto career. In my current job, I've hit my limit. It's not just the paycheck that's an issue; it's about feeling boxed in and unable to grow. I've recently had to sell a good portion of my modest bitcoin holdings in order to pay rent I was behind on. It's just not sustainable. San Francisco is unsustainable for most people. Still, immovable family obligations leave me no choice but to remain in the Bay Area. So, here I am, leaving my job to charge headlong into crypto, with the conviction of knowing the risk I take will have its reward. I'm headed to Art Basel on a wing and a prayer. A testament to resourcefulness, tbw. I've scraped together funds for the cheapest plane ticket I could get and I'm taking my backpack with my sleeping bag ready to sleep outside if that's what it comes to. I'm fully committing to helping to build the future of permissionless, decentralized technologies, and I'd like to reach out to those at Art Basel who are like minded. Maybe we can build something together. I’m more determined than ever to make it in this space, and for me, making it just looks like having enough to get by. Mint this article and the NFT below if you want, as a way to show support, and if you’re in Miami come say hello! I'll be the whale with the cardboard sign. You might as well, Midas Whale.
