NFT Embed by Universe

A new NFT widget-based embed tool from [Universe](https://www.universe.xyz/) called NFT Embed combines NFT card display with wallet connect and marketplace functionality, and includes the ability to list and sell NFTs that you own from your own webpage.

The single NFT display card can be customized by width and height or responsive width, and can also display as a vertical card. You can even display an entire collection as a marketplace, with sorting, filtering and searching capabilities.

For my back-catalog album “[This Time](https://mikeshupp.io/assets/)” I had created individual full-detail pages on my site for each song’s NFT, and included a corresponding marketplace embed widget at the top, which would link back to the NFT’s page on the marketplace, for bidding and buying… examples here from [Zora](https://www.mikeshupp.io/assets/this-time/) auction and [OpenSea](https://www.mikeshupp.io/assets/all-over-town/):

The full collection view rivals the functionality of a stand-alone marketplace, and appears to pull some descriptive data from OpenSea:

Sales made through the embed incur a 0.3% fee which goes to the UniverseDAO. The NFT cards can flip over to the back view, which shows the NFT metadata properties, and when your wallet is connected, the fee splits as well:

I first learned of NFT Embed in an 8/29/22 Arweave News article found [here](https://arweave.news/how-to-easily-embed-nft-sales-into-your-website-using-universe/). The embed tool currently supports the ERC-721 token standard and can be found at [nftembed.org](https://nftembed.org).

Recording Information Notification (RIN) Standard

On Oct. 10th, 2016, [DDEX announced](https://www.dropbox.com/s/l2lcpxtiqo0fr03/DDEX_10Anniversary_RIN_DSR_PressRelease_10-10-2016_EN_OK.pdf?dl=0) the completion of the long-awaited Recording Information Notification standard (RIN), addressing the need to restore sound recording metadata (credits, liner notes, artwork) in the age of digital distribution..

[Sound Credit Tracker](https://sound.credit/tracker) by Soundways, is a DAW plug-in that implements the RIN standard and allows users to enter and track performer and recording credits as they happen. Using the [DDEX](https://ddex.net/) standard, the plug-in stores the metadata in a small, .RIN XML file, to be included and passed along with the project session files.

Ten years in the making, the RIN format comprises an XML file that standardizes the metadata describing all aspects of a recording project and sound recording. RIN is designed for Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) manufacturers to enable their users to capture and store essential metadata in a standard form at the point of creation of a musical work and/or sound recording.

Maureen Droney, Managing Director at The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing (and a key member of the RIN Working Group) stated “RIN will facilitate crediting, ensuring that performers, producers, recording engineers are properly identified and paid for their contributions.”
