it’s never too late to start again
January 5th, 2022

I’ve blogged on and off since I started teaching in 2008. I’ve never quit for any particular reason, always for the same reason people quit most things: because they stop committing.

So I’m going to start another commitment now. Mostly so I have a single place to log my 2022 personal learnings. I’ll do a longer post about my goals (why I chose them and what’s my plan) in a few days, but here’s a list:

  • Category 1: Health
  • Category 2: Wealth
    • Save $25k towards a house in the woods
    • Start a Crypto project (TBD)
  • Category 3: Acumen
    • Write 5x blog entries per week
    • Score at least a “Novice High” on the ACTFL Proficiency Test for Chinese (Mandarin)
    • Become a Level 1 Judge for Magic The Gathering
    • Read 26 Books about the future (List TBD)

While the categories are unlikely to change, the goals might. Over the year I’ll commit to investing a large proportion of my discretionary income and time into achieving these goals.
