Since 2016, the OPEN Ticketing Ecosystem has been building towards an on-chain ticketing industry that packs the benefits of blockchain technology into accessible infrastructure that can be used to facilitate event ticketing around the globe by organisers and artists big or small.

We believe in a open and democratic events industry that restores rightful control to organisers, artists, fans and fair parties that put the work into making events a reality.

To make this vision come true, we’re here to encourage and incentivise talented and passionate developers and builders who share in the same approach and vision to opening up the ticketing industry with us.

To assist, our grants program is available to showcase the many amazing tools that can be built using OPEN’s ticketing infrastructure and reward those who contribute value to the ecosystem and its users.

The goal of our grants program is to provide access and resources to builders that wish to contribute meaningful impact as measured by the following goals:

• Does the project provide meaningful value and contribute to bringing more tickets on-chain?

• Does the project provide unique and valuable benefits to ticketing parties or OPEN community members?

• Is the project live, being built or in a concepting phase to where next steps can be taken to make it a reality?

Apply for a builder grant

If you’re looking to build tooling for the OPEN Ticketing Ecosystem and are requesting funding. You can apply via this form.

You’ll need to provide content on what you plan on building, your experience and a link to your Github, along with examples of past work. Small to medium grants can be approved by our DAO reps, larger grants require an independent DAO vote.

FAQ

What is the review process like for grant distributions?

The grants review team is made up of team members and DAO reps in the OPEN ecosystem. We find grants through Twitter, Farcaster, and nominations submitted in the form linked above.

Grants requesting $10k and below are subject of approval by our DAO reps. Grants above this limit require an independent vote for DAO approval, for which DAO reps can help assist you in formatting your vote for submission to the DAO.

We then spend time testing and using, before deliberating on issuing a grant based on some of the criteria mentioned above.

How large are OPEN grants?

Grants are sized in three categories:

• 1 - Small Grant - Typically between $100-$5k paid in OPN

• 2 - Medium Grant - Typically between $5k. - $10k paid in OPN

• 3 - Custom Grant - Subject to an independent DAO vote for funding in OPN

  Our funding model is inspired by other ecosystems such as Base.
