World Building to me is about understanding the network of connections that form strong emotional bonds within and around an artist's music and creating artifacts around it to symbolize them. We are moving into a future where we need to rethink the Artist-Audience relationship. Traditional methods of distributing music, especially on platforms that homogenize artists, diminish the artist's identity. Music in our digital age can no longer be a mere product. . Instead, artists should visualize and position themselves as a world that fans would want to engage with and contribute to.The core idea is to provide emotional value, making fans active participants in the artist's world rather than mere passive consumers.World Building focuses on creating long-lasting and evolving relationships based on shared experiences and mutual appreciation. It's about the mutual relationship and coexistence between an artist and their audience. The bond isn't unidirectional; it's the start of a conversation. Putting the connections between artist and audience onchain means they are given the immutable status, but also a theatrical status. They are there, and they can be played with. Often these are provided by platforms, labels and brands who don’t have the sustainability of the artist's career as a core goal, or they focus on a select and limited audience. This leads to a lack of innovation and as we are moving into a new phase of the blockchain, it requires us to look beyond its use as a way to tokenise existing formats on chain, and instead as a tool to develop how we interact with music and fandom in all areas.
