Today, we’re officially opening the third property in Iconic.House’s collection.

At 9:56 a.m. ET (14:56 UTC)  today, the SpaceX Falcon9 rocket (Transporter-6 Mission) will take off with 114 small satellites on board, including "Gama Alpha", the one we have been working on for more than two years.

Each time, at the beginning of an innovation cycle, the first iterations of products and services are naively inspired by the previous cycle. The first automobiles were very much like stagecoaches with a steam engine attached. And so when I talk about the first iteration I often use the metaphor of the "steam stagecoach". Keeping with the automobile theme, the electric car is clearly still at its first iteration, judging from the placement of the charging cap at the same location as the gas cap.

I got into Web 2.0 without knowing it. In 2004, I decided to launch an image bank with a key characteristic: anyone could post their photos. Not only professional photographers as it was already the case with traditional image banks such as Getty or Corbis, but by any amateur photographer with a digital camera. From a few photos per day, to hundreds of thousands of images per week, the micro-stock model had in a couple of years completely disrupted the historic image bank players forcing them to totally reinvent themselves.

Anyone interested in tech and the future of the web has most likely already done the fun mental exercise of taking the models we know and trying to imagine them from the perspective of web3. What would be the consequences of their decentralization? How much sense would a token make? Fungible or non-fungible? What would be the business model? etc. With this in mind, it’s thrilling to re-imagine Stripe, Airbnb, Uber, WhatsApp, Facebook, Google ...
