水，汉语一级字，读作shuǐ，最早见于商代甲骨文 \[1]  ，其本义是河流，引申泛指一切水域；又由表示无色无味的透明液体引申泛指某些液态物质；又由水静则平衍生出水准、用水测平的含义，即《说文解字》所谓的“准也”；还有游水、五行之一、生活在各类水体中的生物等含义。
