Fam, 2023 was a year of shipping & community building, powering the Cosmos & literally pushing for awareness for the OmniFlix brand and the FLIX ticker all over the Cosmos and beyond.
While we reminisce over the highlights from last year, we also plan to take things to the next level with our vision of building the Interchain Media Hub - empowering creators & communities with our web3 suite of apps - and to make using and teaming up with OmniFlix a rewarding experience.
Note from our core contributors
OmniFlix’s vision has always been to provide creators and communities with the right tooling -- to manage, distribute & monetize media assets -- and to utilize media for their community building.
This vision started to play out in 2023 with the launch of AdX (Advertisements Exchange) for Cosmoverse 2023 and OmniFlix TV with interactive video publishing which are both media-centric in the way they enable communities to do more.
As a community member, you will see media-centric releases to align with the vision even more in 2024.

January
1) Interchain Roundup NFTs
The year began with OmniFlix's Interchain Roundup NFT campaign. It dazzled Cosmonauts by summarizing their transactions/adventures into a personalized soul bound video NFTs. This innovative recap, a collaboration with Numia and Public Awesome, turned data into a celebration of personal and community milestones. A total of 11k+ NFTs were claimed by Cosmonauts.

February
1) Game of NFTs (GoN)

OmniFlix Network participated in Game of NFTs to build on Interchain NFTs tech & also contributed to the media to market this event.Highlights include:

Participation in Public Incentivized Testnets and Hackathon phases.

Showcased innovations set to reshape the NFT ecosystem.

Celebrated the creativity and technical achievements of participants.

2) Akash EDU launched on OmniFlix TV (Alpha)
Akash Network launched Akash EDU, a learning hub built on OmniFlix TV (Alpha version). Participants could access and engage with the Intro to Praetor course by signing up and receiving a unique NFT, which served as both access and recognition of their learning journey. The program emphasized practical understanding and interactive learning, culminating in a 'Proof of Completion' NFT for those who successfully passed the course assessments.
March
1) Prep for FLIX Token going live begins
With the announcement of the FLIX token going live, a clear timeline was established for distributing FlixDrop NFTs to the holders and preparing for the FLIX/OSMO stream on 4/20 (20th April) 2023.
FlixDrop NFTs were dropped to eligible community members, including Creators, Early Users, App Testers, Testnet Validators, and Delegators, among others. In March, the team diligently concentrated on ensuring the NFT drops were successfully executed for most of these categories, marking a significant milestone in the network's journey.
2) FlixTalk #60 IRL with Greg Osuri at T-Hub Hyderabad
At #FlixTalk (60), we were honored to welcome Greg Osuri at T-Hub Hyderabad. A big thanks to Greg, Akash Network, Flix Crew, Hyderabad DAO, and Chain Monks for a successful event.
3) AKT goes live on OmniFlix Market
Excitingly, $AKT debuted on OmniFlix Market, with Greg Osuri making the first NFT purchase live. This milestone, featuring the Tardigrades NFT with an AKT trait, marks a new chapter in our journey. Thanks to everyone involved for supporting innovation and fostering a future of interchain collaboration.
4) OmniFlix at ETH Denver repped by Ken
ETHDenver was unforgettable! OmniFlix thrived, fuelled by Denver's inspiring vibes and the community's energy. Thanks to Ken for representing us brilliantly.
April
1) Contribution to StreamSwap
As a core Contributor to StreamSwap & first token to go live on the protocol, the team was busy working with Osmosis and other individual collaborators to get the app ready for it’s debut stream on 4/20.
2) $FLIX goes LIVE
The moment that FlixFam & Cosmonauts waited for more than a year, realised. $FLIX went live, using a community led token launching platform - StreamSwap Protocol, with it’s first stream gaining the love of Cosmonauts, web3 enthusiasts & the Flix Fam. A livestream was done at the last hours of the Bootstrapping Phase with Creators from OmniFlix & builders from Cosmos to discuss all things about the launch, what it means for the community and reminiscing the journey so far.
With 3,133 unique accounts participating in price discovery for FLIX & 640k OSMO deposited opposite 1M FLIX, the debut stream was a massive success.

May
1) The 4th (of May) was with FLIX/ATOM Stream
The FLIX/ATOM StreamSwap, a key part of our FLIX economic launch, successfully deepened our ties within the Cosmos ecosystem.
Launching with a 50-hour Bootstrapping Phase followed by a 9-hour Streaming Phase, it allowed ATOM holders to engage and swap seamlessly. This event wasn't just a transaction; it was a celebration of community and collaboration, marking a significant stride in our interchain journey.
And the FLIX/ATOM stream was a success!
June
1) FlixFridays - A monthly campaign dedicated to NFTs on OmniFlix
FlixFridays, launched in June, became a monthly highlight for cosmonauts, offering engaging NFT campaigns on OmniFlix Market and OmniFlix.tv. Spearheaded by our community subDAO, FlixFanatics, these events provided a platform for users to participate, interact, and earn NFTs and tokens as rewards, fostering a vibrant and active community within the OmniFlix ecosystem.
2) Tested & Launched Streampay & Interact-to-Claim modules on Testnet
A successful testnet upgrade of the ITC (v1) and StreamPay (v2) modules was a major milestone for OmniFlix. Validators casted their votes, and we made the leap! Adjustments were swiftly made to our apps to embrace these enhancements.
StreamPay went live revolutionising token transfers with its time-based mechanism. This innovative feature allowed creators and communities to configure payment streams, opening up a new world of possibilities for real-time services and scheduled compensation within the OmniFlix ecosystem.

The Interact-to-Claim (ITC) module, also launched with StreamPay, transformed NFTs into dynamic tools for engagement. It enabled creators to offer exclusive experiences and rewards, enhancing community interaction and loyalty while fostering a trusted ecosystem of verified NFT ownership.

1) FlixDrop
After over a year of anticipation, FlixDrop launched, celebrating OmniFlix's early supporters, users, and creators.Recipients, actively involved through platforms like OmniFlix Studio, Market, TV, or as Network Validators, were dropped a total of 600k+ FlixDrop NFTs across 33 categories.

2) Auctions & Bulk Transactions launch on OmniFlix Market
OmniFlix Market redefined the NFT trading experience by introducing Timed Auctions, a Cosmos NFT Apps first, and Bulk Transactions.
Auctions feature allows participants to place bids within a specified time frame, adding excitement and a competitive edge to acquiring unique digital assets. It provides a transparent, dynamic trading environment, enhancing user experience with the thrill of real-time bidding.
Bulk Transactions on OmniFlix Market have significantly streamlined the NFT trading process. Users can now conduct multiple transactions in one go - like Bulk List, Delisting, Burn, Transfer & Auction.

1) IST & axlUSDC integrated on OmniFlix Market
August saw two stablecoins integrated on OmniFlix. Increasing not only the number of denoms accepted but also bringing two stablecoins which gives more options to users to List, Auction, Collect NFTs on OmniFlix.Market & now also to use campaigns on OmniFlix.Market & StreamPay.me using these denoms.

2) OmniFlix X TedX HYD Ignite
The Flix Crew took part in Tedx Hyderabad Ignite, immersing themselves in the vibrant confluence of art and technology. There, we witnessed a live painting by #RanjitRoy, which we transformed into an interactive video. This not only brought the artwork to life but also offered participants in the interactive video campaign the exclusive opportunity to acquire an NFT of this unique artistic moment.

1) OmniFlix TV v1 launches
In September, after two years in alpha and 8.8 million interactions, the Flix Crew launched OmniFlix TV (v1), revolutionising media engagement with interactive video capabilities for creators, media IPs, and more. Continuously evolving with features like Tipping and Leaderboards, it's transforming content into interactive, engaging experiences.

2) TEDxHyd X OmniFlix 2023
At TEDxHyderabad, members from the Flix Crew and FlixFanatics introduced over 150 people to blockchain with Ticket NFTs, guiding 100 newcomers to claim their first POP NFTs. A big shoutout to the team and TEDx for fostering a tech-rich experience.
3) Adx for Cosmoverse’23
Cosmoverse'23 served as a Super Bowl moment for OmniFlix, which elevated the event with AdX, a cutting-edge ad space platform. AdX provided diverse formats like Overlay and Video Ads, flexible durations, and a user-friendly interface, streamlining advertising for all projects and communities involved.

1) OmniFlix at Cosmoverse’23

2) FlixFest 2023
FlixFest'23, the buzzworthy side event of Cosmoverse'23, was an absolute vibe! A heartfelt shoutout to partners like Inter Protocol, Osmosis, StreamSwap, and Strangelove Labs for contributing to its success, and to Huginn Staking for the flawless organization.

November
1) Upgrade + contracts testing
The Flix Crew started testing the CosmWasm execution framework during 2023 and in November 2023, started the development of CosmWasm contracts that enable creators to configure NFT launches in a seamless manner.
A CosmWasm devnet is in action and will be pushed to testnet (i.e. FlixNet-4) in early February 2024.
2) Thanksgiving with Creators & Validators
OmniFlix celebrated Thanksgiving 2023 by dropping 696 FLIX-giving NFTs to Creators & Validators in gratitude for their community-building efforts. These NFTs were used to claim $FLIX from the campaigns page. You can read more about the eligibility and value in this article. We will be coming back with a surprise like this for our relayers too in 2024.
3) OmniFlix at NFT Nashville
Sistla made an e-appearance at NFTs Nashville, one of the first IRL event in Austin for the Cosmos NFT Community. OmniFlix was proud to power the ticketing and to spread the gospel about OmniFlix TV.
December
1) Prep for v47
The OmniFlix team is making significant strides with the SDK v47 upgrade, focusing on enhancing the OmniFlix Market & Studio through the OmniFlix indexer. Rigorous testing on the devnet and FlixNet-4 testnet is underway to ensure a smooth transition. The anticipated launch of OmniFlix Hub (v2) with Cosmos SDK v47 is set for early January, promising a more robust and seamless experience for all users in the Flixverse.
2) OmniFlix in spotlight by Crypotcito & Crypto Banter
OmniFlix’s FLIX token got featured by Cryptocito during the ecosystem overview that was given to CryptoBanter.
