On September 13, 2023, BNB Chain announced the launch of its Layer 2 network, opBNB, which is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and based on the Optimism OP Stack. This launch aims to provide more cost-effective gas fees for blockchain projects. OpBNB is a Layer 2 solution built on top of the BNB Chain ecosystem. It underwent extensive testing, during which no major issues were found, leading to its public launch.
