Getting started to use a network requires a tiny amount of its native token for gas fees. Also, sometimes, owning a small amount of a community token is needed to be included in that community. It always has been a problem for the projects and users at the starting point. Many of these networks and communities would like to drop a tiny amount of their token to help the users use their service easier. But the problem with the current faucets is that they’re not Sybil resistant.

The development of BrightID began three years ago with the goal of providing a decentralized platform for applications to ensure the uniqueness of their users and counteract the attack of bots on their applications. We believe that the only decentralized, scalable, and reliable way to detect humans from bots in the future of cyberspace is to rely on the social relations of humans.
