1️⃣ · Organise the table
→ Popular 5 to 8 most popular flags in front of the folder shared by both assistants. Can be reached quickly without flicking through a binder.
→ Frequent The local national flag + English (or whichever 2 languages are most frequent) to the left and right of the folder. One pile per assistant.
→ Rare Most people need 1 or 2 of the flags from the table + maybe 1 from the folder. This leaves the folder free for assistants to regularly access.
2️⃣ · Smile + Handshake
Greeting guests with a smile and a handshake makes them feel welcome and at home.
3️⃣ · National Flag
All participants get the national flag, it helps them integrate, but also helps keep the attendance tally (do not count guests with a ticker!).
4️⃣ · Cards
Every new participant gets a card.
5️⃣ · The Speech
You can add extras, please don’t skip steps.
If a participant is shy and needs encouragement, or you need to fill in the time while finding a rare flag, add one of the extras.
Standard Participant (New, accepts all suggestions)
Flag Snatcher
Request the Ambassador to place flag directly on your chest
Walk past the table or refuse to take flags
Not here for Mundo Lingo and 1) you are interested 2) you are not interested
Place flags on your arms
Tell the Ambassador you only need your target language, not your native.
Ask the Ambassador "Where are the hot girls?"
Talk on your phone
Nervous Chatter Box · Ask the Flagger about themselves, keep talking ALAP.
Requests 2 flags of the same language
Requests flag based on descendancy but doesn’t speak the language
Do not interrupt teammates while they’re giving the Speech, they’ll resent you for it 🔪Stick to your participant (or group of). Participants talk to one Ambassador at a time.
No sitting at the flag table.
Flag table is smoke-free for all.
No drinks on the flag table.
Don’t give flags to participants who are ‘too busy’ to listen to you. It’s 1 minute. You deserve their respect and time.
Don’t give flags to participants talking on the phone. Say “It’s okay, I’ll wait until you’re finished” repeatedly until they give you their undivided attention.
Problems? Be firm, polite, and inform the bars security. Never reprimand someone yourself.
Ambassadors can chat but not hanging around the table for more than 15 minutes
Every participant takes the national flag.
