Already an Ambassador? Keep reading! …
Ambassadors have many roles, this one unites them all. See someone looking nervous, shy or alone? Approach them and bring them in. That’s all people need; one friendly face in this big social space, makes all the difference for them to mingle freely.
Embrace the specials and the unusual. The quiet, introverted, extroverted, bossy, insecure, nervous, quirky, the less-’instagramable’, those who face none-spoken rejection in unforgiving corners of mainstream daily life, often unaware as to why. We are a space to socialise without the judgement of the overly conformist societies we live in. Often it’s not easy, but we find the way to connect with them and help them through words of kindness to strengthen their social skills if needed. We know, that these characters are often the most interesting personalities to frequent our events and fill the ranks of the Ambassador Network.
Many people are initially perceived as obnoxious, clumsy, rude or arrogant when in fact they’re anything but. As Ambassadors, we keep a thick skin, get past it (not offended!) don’t take it personally and include people regardless of their exotic personality traits which often may even include ignorance. Keep this idea with you during the event. Force yourself to go and talk to that “weirdo”, they’re probably not ‘weird’ at all, but ceretainly unique. This way we may help unleash a valuable character for the community.
If someone is alone and glued to their phone they’re probably shy. Approach them and see if they open to you. If they are, and put their phone away quickly, this confirms they are shy but want to socialise.
Flaggers give everyone the speech, but if they miss it let them know:
1→ Native at the top, order of fluency to weakest at the bottom
2→ Stand to mingle, sit to dwindle.
Get your Ambassador flag on arrival (don’t wait to be offered, ask). Your Ambassador flag goes above all others. No flag = not an Ambassador.
🚫 Do not allow non-Ambassadors to take the flag.
Cupids connect participants based on languages or interests. Vulture Hunters are a nightmare if you’re plan was to hook up tonight. Flaggers welcome guests at reception.
