Rubicon is part of Optimism Quests, an invitation to learn about and explore apps in the Optimism ecosystem and earn NFTs for using them! Quests begin today, September 20th at 18:00 UTC and are hosted on Galxe (formerly Project Galaxy).

To collect the NFT badge for a Quest, users must complete on-chain tasks on an Optimism app, complete a quiz about the app, and complete social tasks like following the project on Twitter or joining their Discord. If you collect enough unique badges from using Optimism apps, you may qualify for an upcoming OP NFT mint. 👀

The Rubicon Quest

The Rubicon Quest is learn-to-earn; you need to learn about the order book protocol and complete a short quiz before completing a few tasks to claim the NFT prize!

Today we are excited to launch the Rubicon Grants Program. This program will fund individuals and teams who contribute to Rubicon, an order book protocol built on Ethereum Layer 2 (L2). Contributing can take many forms including code, content, research, dashboards, translations, memes, or something else. This program is particularly special to us because the first funding Rubicon received was a grant!

To get involved, join the Rubicon Discord and visit the #contributing channel. If you have a project in mind, you can apply for a grant by submitting the Application Form.

Our Grants program is continuous; contributors can apply for funding at any time!

Last fall, Rubicon was one of the first apps to launch on the Optimism layer 2 (L2) network. As a part of Optimism’s Phase 0 Distribution to early projects, Rubicon received an OP token allocation to bring more liquidity and users to the network! 📈

While May was dominated by negative crypto headlines, our team at Rubicon blocked out the noise and kept building.

As of writing, the Rubicon order books have tighter spreads than ever before, all Pools have produced positive monthly returns, and OP liquidity mining on Rubicon is right around the corner! A few other highlights include OP markets going live, the protocol reaching $1 million total value locked (TVL), and our Code4rena audit contest for the Rubicon v1 codebase.

This month we will officially launch Rubicon v1 on Optimism once we release a protocol version that implements recommendations from the audit contest!

Today we are excited to release Rubicon’s Open APIs, powered by The Graph. The Graph is a protocol that makes it possible to collect, store, and access data from Ethereum and related blockchains. Data from the Rubicon order book protocol, such as offers, swaps, and deposits or withdrawals from liquidity pools, can now be tracked and easily queried through Subgraphs.

To get started with the Rubicon Subgraphs, visit our API documentation to see an outline of their functionality as well as some example queries. You can also interact with the Rubicon subgraphs on the Graph Playground. (RubiconMarket, BathToken)

Read on to learn more about current uses for the Rubicon v1 Subgraphs and useful tips for getting started with our APIs.
